You are what you eat

Since 2 years I navigate in the world of Kitesurfing all around the globe and, like in the 80ies, when I was a Windsurf professional (1982 Atlantic Crossing by Windsurf in 24 days, GUINESS BOOK of RECORDS), I noticed that both sportive worlds are full of excellent athletes who don’t care at all about nutrition.

The physical shape is like a triangle: at each edge you find the most important thing – TRAINING – NUTRITION – REST. Each point is more important than the other. Even though I see Windsurfers and Kiters sleeping bad and eating worse. They enter and leave Mac Donald’s just like Schumacher stops at the boxes to refuel his Ferrari with the most sophisticated gasoline. Schumacher knows that for having good results he has to give to his Ferrari the best nutrition and all of us know that the cars’ motor is just a minus perfect copy of our human body. And so I ask myself why the Kiters don’t give to their own motor what Schumacher gives to his Ferrari?

Is our body minus important than a car? If the car’s carburetor breaks, you can always buy a new one. But our heart, our leaver, our lungs have to last for a lifetime. We all know already that we are what we eat. But we also are what we think. If we believe that smoking relaxes, that alcohol makes us real men and that marihuana is even better, well, with this excuses we make a lot of use of it. But changing our thoughts we can also change our destiny. If we start to think that Mac Donald’s is junk food, that smoking causes several forms of cancer and other respiratory problems, that the alcohol destroys our lever which is nothing else but our motor’s filter, and that marihuana minds slowly by slowly our capacity of remembrance and the delight of having an orgasm, then we will be able to quit them from our live and to start a new life of first quality, just like Schumacher’s Ferrari.

We are what we eat, we are what we think. So our future will be a direct consequence of our present decisions. I am the best proof that all of that is true. I’m 61 and traveling around the world making kite. I have a wonderful fiancé at the age of 23. I’m never ill, not even a cold. And do you know why? Because in my life I always attracted the best of all and I was never contented with anything less. Believe me, it is not presumption, only love and respect for myself. We attract in our life whatever we decide to attract. So why not attracting the best instead of accepting something less?
